A Broadcaster
I've a huge experience of radio in general and sports broadcasting in particular. I have discovered and trained several household names in sports radio in the UK. I lecture to media students at two Universities and host set-piece sporting events. I work not only for network BBC TV and radio but have also presented a weekly TV sports show on Made in Leeds TV. I have worked for Sky Sports and Talksport and have undertaken work for several other media companies.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Was in sales working for Grand Metropolitan before joining BBC in 1983. Over next 30 years worked at York, Newcastle, Blackburn and Leeds doing everything in regional broadcasting from presentation, reporting, management and sports reporting for TV and Radio.
I set up Tanner Creative Ltd in 2012 after leaving the BBC full-time.
EDUCATION
Went to Westminster School in the early 1970s and took my 7 O levels and 3 A levels to Brunel University in London.
Graduated from there in 1982 with a 2:1 Bsc Hons degree in Politics and Law.
SKILLS
I'm a proven broadcaster with an attention to detail.
I can present on Radio and TV. I'm a sports commentator and producer and can host live events either "on air" or in front of an audience.
Spotting talent and bringing out the best in such potential is one of my particular strengths. No doubt why I enjoy teaching so much at two universities.
